Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Beat cake mix, 1 cup of pumpkin, milk, eggs, oil and 1 tsp of spice. Bake 20 to 22 minutes. Cool. Beat cheese until creamy. Add sugar, remaining pumpkin and ½ tsp spice. Mix well. Stir in cool whip. Cut each cake horizontally. Stack on serving plate spreading cream cheese mix between layers. Refrigerate.
